We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Shipping Technology team in Utrecht and assist in growing and scaling their cloud-based platform and systems. In collaboration with product teams and stakeholders, you will be responsible for driving and enabling the development and architecture strategy.

Tech stack; Spring Boot (Java), TypeScript (Node.js), SAP BTP, RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL & SAP HANA, AWS Services, Docker & Kubernetes (K8s), Bitbucket & JIRA.
Responsibilities:
- Build and support backend systems by designing, writing, and testing new features and functionality using Java (Spring Framework), Node.js, and cloud infrastructure components.
- Maintain resilient, secure, and high-performing solutions capable of handling tens of thousands of daily requests through a multiservice architecture.
- Improve existing systems by monitoring, identifying, and correcting software defects.
- Suggest and contribute to the integration of new techniques, technologies, and improvements within the team.
- Collaborate with team members and mentor junior engineers.
Functie eisen
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work and reasoning level.
- 3+ years of experience in building and deploying backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) or JavaScript (Node.js).
- Experience working with relational databases.
- Experience designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud-based applications (AWS, GCP, Azure, or SAP BTP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Comfortable working independently and self-teaching.
- Allowed to work in the EU without sponsorship.

- Market-based salary based on your knowledge and experience (ranging between €45k – €75k per year).
- Full-time contract under Dutch law, with support to apply for the 30% ruling (if eligible).
